Admire Pro is a systemic neonicotinoid insecticide. It moves upward to new growth, but not down. It has several application options, including as a diluted spray onto seed-pieces, as an in-furrow spray or a subsurface side-dress on both sides of the hill, or as an early foliar application. Expect up to 60-90 days of residual control depending on the application timing, use rate, soil and environmental conditions, plant growth rate, and insect pressure. Apply neonicotinoid insecticides (Group 4A) ONLY once in a season, because exposure to insecticides with long persistence in foliage can create strong selection pressure towards resistant insect populations. Similar products (other brands) containing imidacloprid are available but uses and use rates vary.
