Rimon(novaluron)

General Information

Rimon controls juvenile life stages of pests because it disrupts the molting process; it does not control adults. It must be ingested to control juveniles, or it can be applied over eggs to act as an ovicide. No systemic or translaminar activity, so good coverage is important. Soft on many predatory insects. Use higher rates and higher spray volumes when the leaf canopy is dense. A repeat application 7-14 days after the first may be needed to cover new growth. Make only two consecutive applications of Rimon (or other Group 15 insecticides) before rotating to an effective insecticide with a different MOA.

Pest or Disease MOA1 Efficacy2 Rate per Acre3 REI4 PHI5 Notes
Armyworms, Cutworms, Loopers (various genera, Lepidoptera) 15E6-12 fl oz12 h14 dApply when larvae are small.
Colorado Potato Beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) 15G6-12 fl oz12 h14 dApply at 50% egg hatch when larvae are small. Use higher rates and higher spray volumes when larvae are large.
Lygus Bugs (Lygus species) 15G See Label12 h14 dLygus bugs are not listed in the potato section of the label but are mentioned for other crops. Apply when early nymph stages are present.
Potato Psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) 15F (n)12 fl oz12 h14 dApply when psyllid eggs are hatching/nymphs are present. This product does not control adults. The Rimon label recommends applying with an adulticide for optimum control. No systemic or translaminar activity, so it may not always reach nymphs on the underside of leaves.

1Mode of action. NC = not classified..
2 Efficacy ratings denote the relative ability of a pesticide to control its target. The ratings are E = excellent, G = good, F = fair/suppression; P = poor, and ND = no data. Efficacy ratings are based on the inherent toxicity of the pesticide against its target, the likelihood that the target will contact or ingest the product as applied, duration of impact on the target, and undesired effects, such as negative impacts on natural enemies that could lead to future pest outbreaks.
3 Rate per acre per application. Refer to the product label for maximum use rate per season.
4 Reentry interval.
5The minimum pre-harvest interval. Some products do not list PHI.
Note: always read and follow the directions on the pesticide label.
