Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Potato(thiamethoxam, fludioxonil, difenoconazole, sedaxane)

General Information

Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Potato includes a systemic neonicotinoid insecticide (thiamethoxam), a broad-spectrum contact fungicide (fludioxonil), and two systemic fungicides (difenoconazole and sedaxane) to enhance Fusarium dry rot, Rhizoctonia stem canker, and silver scurf control. This is a liquid seed treatment. The total water and product volume must be adjusted to deliver a maximum of 4 fl. oz. per 100 lbs. of seed since excess moisture may lead to increased seed rot. Apply this product before adding a dust or dust-based fungicide. Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Potato will limit the spread of several fungal pathogens when cutting and planting and has some curative effect on some seed-borne fungal diseases. The insecticide component controls insects via ingestion. Expect 60-90 days of residual insect control, depending on the rate used, soil and environmental conditions, and insect pressure.  Apply neonicotinoid insecticides (Group 4A) ONLY once a season because exposure to insecticides with long persistence in foliage can create intense selection pressure towards resistant insect populations. Similar products with and without fungicides are available.

Pest or Disease MOA1 Efficacy2 Rate per Acre3 REI4 PHI5 Notes
Aphid (various species) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7E-F(PYV)0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hIt may work too slowly to prevent the rapid spread of Potato Virus Y when migratory aphid numbers are high.
Beet Leafhopper (Circulifer tenellus) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7G-F0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hThis product should provide some early season control, but it may work too slowly to prevent the rapid spread of phytoplasma diseases (e.g., purple top disease) when BLH numbers are high. Watch the Contour Maps in the Potato DAS weekly to monitor regional BLH population densities.
Colorado Potato Beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7E0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hDon't be alarmed to find newly emerged adult beetles alive on treated plants because it can take days for them to start feeding, ingest the insecticide, and then die. However, if larvae are found on treated plants, the residual product is probably no longer active.
Fusarium dry rot (caused by Fusarium spp.) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7G0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hThis product will limit the spread of Fusarium spp. from infected seed during the cutting and planting process and should suppress some of the disease already in the seed.
Potato Psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7E (a)0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hIt should control migrating adult potato psyllids for 60-90 days. The application may be followed-up with in-season, foliar insecticides for a no-gaps psyllid management strategy.
Rhizoctonia canker and black scurf (Rhizoctonia solani) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7G0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hIt will suppress seed-borne Rhizoctonia around developing sprouts. Avoid using seed from infected or heavily scurfed tubers, even with fungicides. Combine with a soil-applied product (in-furrow) to control soil-borne Rhizoctonia.
Silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7G0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hIt will limit the spread of H. solani (the causal agent of silver scurf disease) from infected seed during the cutting and planting process.
Wireworms (Elateridae) IRAC 4A; FRAC 12, 3, 7P0.5 fl oz/100 lb seed See Label12 hIt can control wireworms that feed on the seed piece but will not prevent damage to daughter tubers during the growing season.

1Mode of action. NC = not classified..
2 Efficacy ratings denote the relative ability of a pesticide to control its target. The ratings are E = excellent, G = good, F = fair/suppression; P = poor, and ND = no data. Efficacy ratings are based on the inherent toxicity of the pesticide against its target, the likelihood that the target will contact or ingest the product as applied, duration of impact on the target, and undesired effects, such as negative impacts on natural enemies that could lead to future pest outbreaks.
3 Rate per acre per application. Refer to the product label for maximum use rate per season.
4 Reentry interval.
5The minimum pre-harvest interval. Some products do not list PHI.
Note: always read and follow the directions on the pesticide label.
