There are liquid (EC) and granular formulations of Mocap (ethoprop). They can be broadcast or banded. For nematodes and for moderate to heavy infestations of wireworms, the broadcast application is preferred.
The following information is for broadcast application of Mocap EC. Broadcast and immediately incorporate with tillage equipment. Apply no earlier than 2 weeks before planting. Pay attention to rotation crop restrictions. Small grains should not be planted within 8 months of the Mocap EC application. Restricted use pesticide with “Danger/Poison” warning and handling concerns.

Pest or Disease | MOA1 | Efficacy2 | Rate per Acre3 | REI4 | PHI5 | Notes |
Nematodes (various spp.) (various) | 1B | F | 1-2 gal | 72 h | Expect suppression of Northern root knot, Columbia root knot, and stubby root nematodes for 5 to 6 weeks. Severe infestations may not be adequately controlled. Apply at a rate of 2 gal per acre to control nematodes (1 gal per acre is used to control wireworms). | |
Wireworms (Elateridae) | 1B | G | 0.67-1 gal | 72 h | Apply at a rate of 1 gal/A to control wireworms and symphylans (up to 2 gal/A can be used to control nematodes). The label suggests 2–4-inch incorporation for wireworms, but 6–8-inches may be better. |
1Mode of action. NC = not classified..
2 Efficacy ratings denote the relative ability of a pesticide to control its target. The ratings are E = excellent, G = good, F = fair/suppression; P = poor, and ND = no data. Efficacy ratings are based on the inherent toxicity of the pesticide against its target, the likelihood that the target will contact or ingest the product as applied, duration of impact on the target, and undesired effects, such as negative impacts on natural enemies that could lead to future pest outbreaks.
3 Rate per acre per application. Refer to the product label for maximum use rate per season.
4 Reentry interval.
5The minimum pre-harvest interval. Some products do not list PHI.
Note: always read and follow the directions on the pesticide label.
