Report accidents promptly to the appropriate state agency. The agency will investigate the problem and take immediate steps to reduce harmful effects, determine causes and responsibilities, and prevent recurrence.
Human poisoning. As soon as the victim is under a physician’s care, caregivers are required to report suspected or confirmed pesticide-related illness. The national, toll-free Poison Help Line is reached at 1-800-222-1222 or by texting "poison" to 797979. Those numbers connect you to your local poison center and is your resource to help in a poisoning emergency.
Investigations of pesticide misuse. When you speak with an individual, please be prepared to provide as much information as possible concerning the incident.
Pesticide spills and cleanup. In the event of a significant accidental pesticide spill or release due to leaks. floods, fires, and the like, notify one of the following: Washington Department of Emergency Management at 1-800-258-5990; Idaho EMS Dispatcher at 1-800-632-8000; or Oregon Emergency Response System at 1-800-452-0311.
