spirotetramat (Movento HL)

Movento HL works via ingestion. It requires 7-10 days to be fully active but is a true systemic that distributes throughout the plant (up and down) and generally provides residual control for 2-3 weeks. Enough leaf tissue must be present for uptake and redistribution in the plant. Use a penetrating surfactant like MSO. Do not tank mix with pesticides containing a sticker component. It is best to apply via ground or air. Most effective when applied as two sequential applications 10-14 days apart. Do not allow more than 21 days between the two applications. There is another formulation, Movento, with a different use rate.

Material Type: Insecticides and Repellents
Signal Word: Caution
Formulation: Liquid
EPA Number: 264-1188

Usage for spirotetramat on Potatoes

Max Application per Season: 5fl oz

Emergence to Row Closure

Target Application per Acre REI PHI MOA Eff. Notes
Aphid 2.0-2.5 fl oz 24 h 7 d 23 E-G Apply before populations build, or about 10 days before an earlier systemic insecticide breaks down. It may work too slowly to prevent spread of Potato Virus Y, especially when winged (migratory) aphid numbers are high.
Nematodes (various spp.) 2.0-2.5 fl oz 24 h 7 d 23 P Movento HL can suppress nematodes, but it is best used in combination with other nematode controls, like fumigant nematicides or a Vydate (oxamyl) program.
Potato Psyllid 2.0-2.5 fl oz 24 h 7 d 23 E (n+a) Apply at the first appearance of psyllids, or about 10 days before an earlier systemic insecticide breaks down. It is best used early in the outbreak cycle due to its systemic properties and to take advantage of its efficacy against all psyllid life stages.
Thrips 2.0-2.5 fl oz 24 h 7 d 23 F Movento HL can suppress thrips larvae, but it is not recommended as a rescue treatment.

Two-spotted Spider Mite 2.0-2.5 fl oz 24 h 7 d 23 F Movento HL is not recommended as a rescue treatment for spider mites, but it may delay or prevent mite outbreaks when it’s applied to control other pests. Do not apply after Oberon (another Group 23) unless an application of an insecticide with a different mode of action is used first.
