Imidan 70-W has contact activity only, so good coverage is essential for control. Residues are short-lived. It may knockback some beneficial, predatory insects in addition to pests. It is probably best used late season to knockback multiple pests. Incompatible with alkaline materials (like lime, lime sulfur). Buffer spray solution to pH 3.5 to 5 for optimal residual activity. Make only two consecutive applications before rotating to an insecticide with a different MOA.

| Target | Application per Acre | REI | PHI | MOA | Eff. | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beet Leafhopper | 1.33 lb | 5 d | 7 d | 1B | P | It will control BLHs on contact but is not recommended for this pest because residues last only a few days. Products with longer residual activity are better for maintaining control of BLH during their migration periods and limiting spread of phytoplasma diseases (e.g., purple top). |
| Colorado Potato Beetle | 1.33 lb | 5 d | 7 d | 1B | G-F | Apply when about 50% of eggs have hatched and larvae are small for knockback control. |
| Lygus Bugs | See Label | 5 d | 7 d | 1B | G-F | Lygus bugs are on the label but not in the potato section. It can knockback lygus bugs, especially if applied when nymphs are present. |
| Potato Psyllid | 1.33 lb | 5 d | 7 d | 1B | F-P (a) | It can knockback adult psyllid populations. Products with longer residuals are preferred for controlling psyllids as they slowly migrate into potatoes. |
