Black dot (Colletotrichum coccodes)

Black dot is a potato disease caused by a fungus, Colletotrichum coccodes. Leaves and stems of affected plants may turn yellow, and wilt, then die. Fungal sclerotia, which look like tiny black dots, can appear at the base of the plant. They can also occur on the tuber surface, resulting in blemishes that resemble silver scurf.
